Job summary

Central Alberta Co-op in Red Deer is seeking a part-time Bakery Clerk to join our team. The role includes customer service, bakery product packaging, and assisting bakers with production, decoration, and setup for the next day.

Availability includes weekdays and weekends in mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Training is provided, and this position offers benefits after 3 months. This role supports the Alberta Youth Incentive Program for ages 15-24.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required.
• Prior experience in a bakery setting is an asset; however, training is available.
• Applicants must be over 14 years old. (Employment Standards mandates a permit to employ a person aged 14 or under, thus disclosure is required.)

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Package and label bakery products for sale.
• Slice bread, fry and bake donuts, and operate ovens.
• Assist Bakers with production, preparation, and decoration of products.
• Stock shelves and pull freezer products as needed.
• Assist in setting up products for the following day.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

We are participating in the Alberta Youth Incentive Program which supports hiring youth from the ages 15-24.

Position: Bakery Clerk

Part-time: 24-36 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.
