Job summary

North Central Co-op in Edmonton, AB, invites applications for a full-time Baker at Hawkstone Food Store. Successful applicants must be available for early morning shifts (3am–11:30am or 5am–1:30pm) and weekends.

Join a member-owned cooperative and support our bakery team with recipe execution, production planning, stock control, and strict food-safety standards. Prior bakery experience and cake decorating skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail bakery setting.
• Cake decorating experience required.
• Post-secondary education in related field preferred (Red Seal).
• Strong math and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service to customers in the department.
• Prepare a wide variety of baked goods using specific guidelines.
• Ensure consistency of all products being baked.
• Follow production planners with the Manager to project daily requirements while managing shrink.
• Keep cooler and freezers organized; manage stock.
• Clean bakery following food safety guidelines.
• Fill out temperature and sanitation guides.

We invite applications for the position of full-time Baker to join our team at our Hawkstone Food Store located in Edmonton, AB. Successful applicants must be available for early morning open shifts (3am -11:30am/ 5am- 1:30pm) and weekends. Open availability is required.

What you’ll do:

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

• Post-secondary education in related field (Red seal certificate preferred)
• Previous experience as a retail Baker
• Previous cake decorating experience
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong verbal communication skills
• Exceptional math skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently and stand for long periods of time
