Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Partner Merchant Interfaces team within Decisions Foundations. You will help design, develop and launch backend systems and APIs, using Python or Kotlin, while collaborating across product, design and analytics to balance risks and trade-offs.

You will operate in a remote-first environment with flexible work options, contributing to scalable services used by major partners and upholding a strong culture of code quality and ownership.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Backend design, development and launch in Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• API design and scalability in Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to break down problems and write clear, tested, extensible code.
• Comfort with large code bases and code reviews.
• Ownership mindset and proactive growth.
• Strong communication for global teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
