Job summary

Tappwfs in Canada seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Avionics to join a unionized shop supporting long‑cycle maintenance programs. You’ll work on avionics with defined certification scopes, progressing from apprentice to senior engineer within a crew of about ten, under a collective agreement.

The role offers relocation support, a structured pay progression, and ACA certification premiums, with on‑site, full‑time work in a stable environment.

Qualifications

• Valid M2 license or License E for Avionics (military background or direct C130 experience may substitute for licensure).
• Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering recognized by Transport Canada or an equivalent governing body.
• Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency (required for Controlled Goods clearance).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Comfort operating within a defined certification scope and following documentation/quality procedures precisely.
• A collaborative mindset — equally willing to learn from senior engineers and mentor newer technicians.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on aircraft avionics systems within your certification scope.
• Work through full A to E check packages on large aircraft, seeing major maintenance programs through from start to finish.
• Document your work to regulatory and internal quality standards so aircraft return to service safely and on schedule.
• Coach and mentor apprentices and junior technicians as you build seniority.
• Collaborate within a structured, ten-person crew alongside senior engineers, crew leads, and a supervisor.
