Job summary

AircraftWorks Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Avionics, to diagnose and repair highly automated aircraft. The role requires guiding other AMEs, rigorous troubleshooting, and certification of work under ACA supervision.

The position is a Monday–Friday day shift with overtime during AOG events. Comprehensive benefits and a progressive time-off program are offered with compensation negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience on corporate aircraft with Transport Canada E license.
  • Extremely well-developed troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience on 2+ avionics platforms; factory training preferred.
  • Must be able to hold restricted area pass (RAIC) and have a valid passport & driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Supervise and certify work of others as ACA holder; perform aircraft operational checks.
  • Work with maintenance group to achieve daily and long-term goals.
  • Support AOG events with overtime or schedule changes as needed.
  • Uphold AircraftWorks brand by modeling safe behaviors and rigorous standards.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER, AVIONICS

LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

AircraftWorks Ltd. is a Calgary (CYYC) based AMO, and part of the Take Flight Group of Companies which includes Air Partners Corp., and Hangar59. We maintain a fleet of corporate jets and turboprops that require a high level of technical skill. Many of our aircraft are highly automated so this role will be a senior position, which will require experience sharing, and providing guidance to other AME's diagnosing avionics, and systems defects involving complex circuitry. Type specific training will be provided within your first year of employment and ongoing as required.

This position will be a Monday through Friday day shift with occasional overtime and/or schedule changes to support AOG events.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
  • Monday to Friday day shift, but overtime call out will be expected and required. Occasional travel to support short term AOG maintenance needs,
  • Use your experience and knowledge to inspect, efficiently troubleshoot, and repair our aircraft in in the most cost effective manner possible,
  • Embrace company policy and procedure in every task,
  • Proactively identify risk and take mitigating action to eliminate maintenance induced damage,
  • Provide our customers legendary service by recognizing and acting on opportunities to meet their needs,
  • Model safe behaviors by assessing and mitigating risk where ever possible,
  • Take part in our SMS program,
  • As an ACA holder, supervise and certify work of others, complete aircraft operational checks,
  • Work closely within the maintenance group to achieve daily and long term goals,
  • Uphold a world class standard that represents the AircraftWorks brand.
OUR MUST HAVES:
  • Valid Transport Canada E license with 5+ years experience on corporate aircraft,
  • Extremely well-developed trouble shooting skills,
  • Previous experience on 2 or more of the avionics platforms we operate. Preference will be given to candidate with factory level training.
  • Valid driver’s license,
  • Valid passport,
  • Must be able to hold restricted area pass (RAIC),
  • Be medically fit,
  • A desire to be challenged to provide legendary customer service.
