Job summary

JD Aero Technical in Canada seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Avionics Apprentice to support heavy maintenance across Dash 8, CRJ, Boeing 737 and Embraer fleets. Under supervision of the Production Manager, you will perform elementary maintenance tasks while actively pursuing a licence to become an AME.

Responsibilities include following airworthiness standards, requesting parts, documenting work, and ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from accredited college with a diploma in aircraft maintenance.
  • Working towards becoming a licenced AME (E) is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience.
  • Must have clean criminal background and provide a valid police criminal record check.
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance activities in accordance with applicable Standards of Airworthiness and manufacturer manuals.
  • Request parts and materials as per manuals.
  • Ensure all documentation of work performed is clear, up-to-date and signed daily.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company SMS and report hazards or incidents per procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area and exercise FOD vigilance.
  • Conduct maintenance on aircraft and components as directed by the Aircraft Maintenance Lead.
  • Accurately complete paperwork for tasks and generate defect reports from inspections.
  • Perform independent and critical task checks if trained and authorized.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of aircraft interior and exterior.
  • Maintain and store company-provided tools and equipment safely.

Job Purpose:

Our continuous growth creates a demand for heavy maintenance lines. We service the Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300 aircraft, along with the CRJ100/200/700/900 aircraft, Boeing 737 (all series) and Embraer E170/175 aircraft.

We expect applicants to be ready to work in a fast-paced work environment. Our role requires individuals to have excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude!

Job Description:

As an AME Avionics Apprentice, under the supervision of the Production Manager, you will carry out elementary maintenance tasks while actively pursuing a licence for aircraft maintenance to become an AME.

Working hours:

Working hours are mainly 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, and overtime is scheduled when required. Extra hours may be required to meet project deadlines and support operations during critical times.
