About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Aviation Security Specialist to join their team in Kimberley . This role is crucial in safeguarding passengers, crew, aircraft, and airport facilities against security threats. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all aviation security regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to security management and a deep understanding of the evolving threat landscape within the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive aviation security programs and procedures in line with national and international standards.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments of airport facilities, operations, and personnel.
  • Oversee security screening processes for passengers, baggage, cargo, and personnel.
  • Investigate security incidents, breaches, and suspicious activities, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to security staff and other airport personnel on security awareness and procedures.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders on security matters.
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in aviation security, law enforcement, or a related security field.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation security regulations (e.g., ICAO Annex 17, national aviation security acts).
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and security system implementation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
