Placements24 is seeking an experienced Security Operations Center Lead to oversee security monitoring and incident response in Kimberley. You will drive the SOC team, refine processes and guide incident containment, eradication and recovery.

The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity operations, leadership experience, and strong SIEM/EDR/IDS skills, with CISSP/CISM or GIAC certifications highly desirable. Hybrid work is available in Kimberley, Canada.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of cybersecurity operations experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
  • Proven incident response, threat analysis and vulnerability management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and grow the SOC team and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee monitoring, event correlation and incident detection using SIEM and security tools.
  • Develop and enforce SOC policies, playbooks and procedures.
  • Manage incident response activities, containment, eradication and recovery.
  • Threat intelligence analysis and proactive threat hunting; liaison with IT and business units.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and authoritative Security Operations Center (SOC) Lead to oversee their security monitoring and incident response functions in Kimberley . This leadership position is responsible for managing the SOC team, ensuring the effective operation of security tools, and guiding the organization through complex security incidents. You will be instrumental in developing and refining SOC processes, staying ahead of emerging threats, and ensuring the continuous protection of the company's digital assets. This is a critical role for an experienced security professional looking to lead a high-performing team and make a significant impact on organizational security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Security Operations Center (SOC) team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the monitoring of security alerts, event correlation, and incident detection using SIEM and other security technologies.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce SOC procedures, policies, and playbooks.
  • Manage security incident response activities, ensuring timely and effective containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Analyze threat intelligence and proactively hunt for threats within the network environment.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including IT management and business units, during incident response and reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity operations , with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Deep understanding of SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other SOC tools and technologies.
  • Proven experience in incident response, threat analysis, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC certifications (e.g., GCIH, GCIA) are highly desirable.
