Job summary

Plan Group Inc. is seeking an AV Project Manager to lead complex multi-million dollar projects from award through closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, and risk while coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of project management experience in construction/AV environments.
• Strong understanding of technology and systems integration.
• Experience procuring and quoting AV equipment.
• Ability to read CAD drawings.
• Professionals with CTS certification or PMP designation are assets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
• PMP designation or equivalent is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out project management procedures from award to closeout (schedules, change orders, drawings, closeout docs).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely, efficient project implementation.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Ensure feasibility and budgeting with management team.
• Provide status updates, forecasting, and cost control.
• Manage relationships with project partners and client to deliver compliant solutions.
• Oversee resources including employees and subcontractors.
• Regularly communicate site activities and technical aspects to stakeholders.
• Interface with consulting engineers for design implementation recommendations.
• Adhere to client safety requirements and Plan Group safety guidelines.
• Track performance and escalate as needed.

Job description

As the AV Project Manager you will be asked to do the following:

• Effectively carry out Plan Group's project management procedures from initial award of job to conclusion (Project schedule, change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents, etc.)
• Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure project implementation is executed in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining integrity of design and project schedule.
• Perform risk management throughout the project life cycle to minimize both known and unforeseen project risks and their negative impacts.
• Work closely with the management team to ensure feasibility and costing of projects according to budget.
• Provide status updates of work in progress and support with project forecasting, cost control and Plan Group's T.I.M.E. efficiency program.
• Manage relationships with all project partners and the client to bring forward innovative solutions that achieve compliance within the project budget.
• Manage project delivery resources including employees and subcontractors.
• Frequently communicate the technical aspects and regular site activities of the project with relevant stakeholders' to effectively update and act on pertinent information.
• Interface with consulting engineers to review and provide recommendations regarding implementation of the design and reports
• Adhere to and carry out all safety requirements by client, as well as follow all of Plan Groups safety guidelines.
• Track project performance and report status and escalates as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• You have a minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the construction industry and familiarity with a variety of construction field concepts, practices and procedures
• Strong understanding of technology and systems integration
• Experience procuring and quoting AV equipment
• AV Knowledge (able to read CAD drawings)
• Experience with Crestron, Qsys and Biamp
• Audio, video conferencing or control equipment manufacturer certifications would be considered assets.
• CTS certification would be considered assets.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience utilizing scheduling software preferred (i.e. Microsoft Project and/or Primavera)
• You hold or are working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent considered an asset
