Job summary

K&S Kelly Tirecraft in Ottawa is seeking an Automotive Service Technician for an hourly role. Wages range from $28.00–$38.00 per hour, based on experience, with benefits and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include diagnosing automotive systems, performing maintenance, and communicating clearly with customers. Qualifications include 310s Certification and a valid driver’s license. We support growth and employee ownership potential.

Qualifications

• 310s Certification is required.
• Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair skills.
• Strong diagnostic abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer requirements.
• Inspect engines and driving systems using diagnostic tools to diagnose faults.
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups as scheduled.
• Communicate repair status and future needs to customers.
• Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose issues and determine whether to repair or replace units.
• Repair or replace components using hand and power tools.
• Complete detailed inspection reports of problems and work performed.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements.
• Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose.
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups.
• Effectively communicate with customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
• Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
• Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed.
• Consistently able to work independently

Qualifications:

• 310s Certification
• Able to perform Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair
• Confident in diagnostic abilities?
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
