Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores in Alberta is seeking an Automotive Service Installer for our fast-paced automotive service centre. You will perform oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light maintenance on vehicles.

Responsibilities include communicating with service staff, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A similar role experience is an asset; valid license and basic tech knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours and lift/carry items.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.
• Ability to work with computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs (lube, oil, filters; tire install/rotate/balance).
• Manage drive clean emission tests where applicable.
• Perform RIV inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Advisors/Technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports.
• Report unsafe vehicles to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
