Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced service centre. You will perform basic maintenance including oil changes, lube service, and tire installation, rotation and balancing, while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will communicate estimates, assist with vehicle inspections, and work with service staff to deliver friendly, reliable service in a busy, family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical demands.
• Willingness to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of automobile technology and comfort with diagnostic tools.
• Experience with COSTAR or similar automotive service software is a plus.
• Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs such as oil changes, lube service, and tire work.
• Assist with tire installation, rotation and balancing.
• Communicate estimates and vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with Service Manager and technicians to deliver quality service.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems
• Results-oriented
• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre for a minimum of 3 years
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR
