Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced Automotive Service Centre team. You will perform basic maintenance, tire work, and inspections, and coordinate with service staff to deliver reliable vehicle care.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario driver’s license.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours.
• Shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs (oil, lube, tires) as requested.
• Perform RIV inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/advisors and technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for Ontario
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems

• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
