Job summary

Canadian Tire in Canada is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to perform basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire installation/rotation/balancing, and light repairs in a fast-paced service centre. You will work with a friendly team and have access to training, benefits, and community involvement opportunities.

The role requires 1 year of experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with lifting and reaching.
• Ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of automobile technology.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs (lube, oil/filter changes, tire installation, rotation and balancing).
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Looking for a candidate with 1 year of experience
• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
