Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced Automotive Service Centre. The role includes oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Requires a valid driver's license and ability to work 8-hour shifts, including weekends/holidays. Prior experience at a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset; COSTAR knowledge is beneficial. On-site parking and employee discount available.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for province of employment.
• Ability to handle physical demands (standing/walking 8 hours; lifting/carrying).
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles (oil/lube, tire installation/rotation/balancing, light maintenance).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (where province allows).
• Perform RIV inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Advisors/Technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to Service Advisor.
• Report unsafe vehicles to management.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
