Job summary

Canada Goose is seeking an Automatic Spreader for our Winnipeg facility. You will spread lays and fabrics according to markers, maintain records, and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.

You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, follow safety guidelines, and help keep production on schedule while collaborating with the supervisor and marker teams.

Qualifications

• Able to read markers and spread fabric to maximize fabric usage.
• Strong initiative to consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to stand and walk for long period of time, moving and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast paced factory environment.
• Ability to comprehend and follow job safety guidelines.
• Skilled in the use of required machines (spreaders) and electrical tools (Chickadee Cutter).
• Capable of setting up machine to specifications and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ability to do repetitive tasks for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Spread lays according to markers provided by Marker Making.
• Maintains daily records of spreading jobs and keeps workspace and equipment clean and well organized.
• Perform proper preventative maintenance as required on any equipment being used.
• Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Notify supervisor of mechanical malfunctions.
• Inspect machinery to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Start machines, monitor operations, and make adjustments as needed.
• Confer with the supervisor to obtain information about orders, processes, or problems.

Position Overview

Working from directions assigned by the cutting room supervisor, an automatic spreader will spread lays and fabrics according to the markers provided by marker making, and complete necessary documentations.

• Fabric Supply background is considered an asset.
