Office of the Auditor General of Canada (OAG) is seeking an Audit Professional in IT audit to collaborate with teams auditing government entities and systems across Canada. You will assess IT risks, lead ITGC audits, and support financial audits with a proactive, collaborative approach.
This role offers variety and opportunities to influence controls across programs, with required willingness to travel and meet security and language requirements.
As an Audit Professional in IT audit, you will work with team members from diverse backgrounds auditing various government entities and systems. Our team is unique in that we work on many of the OAG's audits while collaborating and advising with OAG staff across Canada.
As IT audit specialists supporting audits at the OAG, we provide advice and assistance in assessing IT risks and leading various IT audits. Mainly, we perform IT general control (ITGC) audits and perform IT risk assessments as they relate to financial audit.

The OAG employs over 750 people at its head office in Ottawa and regional offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Montréal, and Halifax. These dedicated employees are brought together to transform Canada’s future and to serve Canada through leadership and partnerships. Specifically, we conduct independent audits and studies that provide objective information, advice, and assurance to Parliament, territorial legislatures, boards of Crown corporations, government, and Canadians.
This process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar or identical positions with various security requirements, language requirements, and tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment, and Interchange Canada).

Preference will be given to veterans first, followed by Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of jobs located in Nunavut or Yukon. For positions located in Nunavut, qualified Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement will be appointed first. For positions located in Yukon, qualified Yukon First Nations will be appointed first, followed by qualified Indigenous persons. The OAG reserves the right to retain a specific number of candidates who best meet the essential qualifications of the position.
Selection based on asset qualifications, top-down selection, random selection, interest in bilingual positions and/or interest in certain geographical locations may be used at any stage of the selection process, including nomination.
The OAG is a separate employer of the federal public service in accordance with Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act.
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level, or equivalent, may be considered for deployment first.
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the OAG’s directives.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Graduate degree (Master's) from a recognized post-secondary institution in an information technology-related field.
OR
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with a CPA professional designation.

At least 2 years of experience within the last 5 years in information technology (IT) audit.

Recent experience is defined as recent and significant experience that is the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of duties on a continuous basis over approximately two (2) years within the past five (5) years.
