Job summary

Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking a Junior Evaluator to support evaluation projects within the Internal Audit and Evaluation Branch. The role focuses on planning, collecting data, and synthesizing findings in line with the Treasury Board Secretariat policy and related directives.

You will assist in drafting reports, presentations, and briefing materials, and contribute to communication of results through dashboards and data visualizations while developing evaluation

Qualifications

  • One year of experience applying research theories and approaches in the evaluation of programs, projects, policies or initiatives.
  • Recent experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Recent experience in contributing to or writing reports or relevant documents.
  • Recent experience using Excel or statistical analytical tools.
  • Recent experience working collaboratively as a member of a team.

Job Summary

The Junior Evaluator is responsible for supporting evaluation projects, undertaken by the Internal Audit and Evaluation Branch, and in accordance with the Treasury Board Secretariat Policy on Results and related directives.

The Junior Evaluator Will
  • Contribute to the development and planning of projects;
  • Gather reliable information using data collection techniques;
  • Compile data and support analysis from various sources to identify risks, trends, and or gaps;
  • Compile, verify, and structure data to support the analysis and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative data;
  • Contribute to literature/document reviews;
  • Support the drafting of reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Participate in the communication of results, recommendations, and findings through products such as reports, presentations, briefing notes, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Develop and maintain evaluation knowledge and expertise and keep apprised of developments in the field.
Education

Undergraduate degree with specialization in evaluation, economics, social sciences (sociology, political science, etc.), statistics or other relevant field.

An acceptable combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.

The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

NOTE: Any higher level of education (i.e., Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.

Experience
  • One (1) year of experience applying research theories and approaches in the evaluation of programs, projects, policies or initiatives.

Assets

Conditions of Employment

Security Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance.
