Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services is seeking a proactive Attendance Management Specialist to support our 24/7 operations across Canadian airport screening sites. The successful candidate will oversee attendance-related practices, manage absenteeism, and ensure compliance with internal policies, union agreements, and regulatory frameworks.

This role is vital to maintaining operational readiness and supporting accountability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of attendance management or HR experience in fast-paced, 24/7 environments.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and leave-related compliance.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Excel for attendance tracking and reporting.
• Discretion handling sensitive issues and maintaining confidentiality.
• Experience in unionized environments is a strong asset.
• Clear communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage attendance records across multiple airport screening locations.
• Analyze absence trends and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Coach local operations managers on attendance-related matters and corrective actions.
• Coordinate short-term and extended leaves in line with Employment Standards and CBAs.
• Lead return-to-work processes with proper documentation and accommodations.
• Maintain centralized attendance tracking tools and generate reports for HR/Operations.
• Collaborate with Labour Relations on grievances, accommodations, or disciplinary matters.
• Educate frontline managers on attendance best practices and reporting procedures.

Position Summary

Paladin Airport Security Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Attendance Management Specialist to support our high-performance operations across Canadian airport screening sites. The successful candidate will oversee attendance-related practices, support operational leaders in managing absenteeism, and guide compliance with internal policies, union agreements, and regulatory frameworks. This role is vital to maintaining our operational readiness, supporting employee accountability, and ensuring a healthy, engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage employee attendance records across multiple airport screening locations.
• Analyze absence trends to identify high-risk patterns and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Support local operations managers with attendance-related coaching, conversations, and corrective actions.
• Guide the administration of short-term and extended leave processes in alignment with Employment Standards and applicable CBAs.
• Lead return-to-work coordination, ensuring documentation and accommodations are timely and appropriate.
• Maintain centralized tracking tools and produce scheduled attendance reports for HR and Operations leadership.
• Work closely with the Labour Relations team when absenteeism intersects with grievances, accommodations, or disciplinary matters.
• Educate front-line managers on attendance best practices, documentation standards, and reporting procedures.

What you bring to PASS:

• Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)/ no unpardoned criminal background
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in attendance management or HR roles in fast-paced, 24/7 operational environments (security, aviation, logistics, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and leave-related compliance.
• Proficiency in using HRIS systems and Excel for attendance tracking and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience working with unionized environments is considered a strong asset.
• Clear communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
