RBC Dominion Securities Gatineau is seeking an experienced financial planning professional to join a high-performing team. You will work closely with the portfolio manager to deliver comprehensive planning to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

You will integrate planning into the client experience across retirement, tax, estate, and wealth transfer. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven planner who thrives in a collaborative environment and directly serves clients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial planning or wealth management.
  • Financial planner diploma from the Institute of Financial Planning.
  • Experience with high-net-worth clients.
  • Bilingual English and French required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • High client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Apps.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive financial plans for retirement, estate, charitable and business succession planning.
  • Prepare wealth projections and modeling to support client objectives.
  • Attend client meetings with the portfolio manager and translate planning concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for asset consolidation, referrals, and planning improvements within the client base.
  • Partner with the portfolio manager to integrate financial planning into the core client experience.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists, external advisors, and COIs.
  • Ensure smooth execution from meeting preparation to post-meeting follow-ups.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial planning best practices, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support team development by sharing insights, planning tools, and best practices.

The RBC Dominion Securities Gatineau branch is seeking an experienced individual to join a high-performing team. In this role, you will work closely with the portfolio manager to deliver high-quality and comprehensive financial planning to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

You will play a key role in integrating financial planning into the core client experience - helping clients make informed decisions across retirement, tax, estate, insurance, and wealth transfer planning.

The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship manager with a financial planning background who enjoys working directly with clients and who thrives in a collaborative environment.

What will you do?
  • Deliver comprehensive financial plans, including retirement, estate, charitable, and business succession planning.
  • Prepare wealth projections and modeling using firm tools to support client objectives.
  • Attend client meetings with the portfolio manager, help translate complex planning concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for asset consolidation, referrals, and planning improvements within the client base.
  • Partner with the portfolio manager to integrate financial planning into the core client experience.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists, external advisors, and centres of influence (COI).
  • Ensure smooth execution of client strategies, from meeting preparation to post-meeting follow-ups.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial planning best practices, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support team development by sharing insights, planning tools, and best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning or wealth management
  • Financial planner diploma granted by the Institute of Financial Planning
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills
  • High client service orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with business applications, including Microsoft 365 Apps
Nice-to-have
  • Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO
  • Master of Taxation (M.Tax.) and/or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
