Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience within real estate or healthcare investing, principal investing, investment or fund management, investment banking, investment sales, or real estate lending.
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment fundamentals and transaction structures, including joint ventures, leases, and debt investments.
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities, including experience with real estate valuation, investment returns, and waterfall structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial and operating information and translate findings into actionable investment insights.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and transaction workstreams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to interact with internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment with a high degree of ownership and independence.
  • French language skills are considered an asset but are not required.
  • Flexibility to travel periodically for property visits, meetings, and transaction-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite acquisition and development opportunities, including detailed property and portfolio-level financial analysis, valuation, and investment return assessment.
  • Evaluate business plans, budgets, financial statements, operating performance, management teams, and counterparty credit.
  • Support transaction structuring and negotiations by providing financial analysis, recommendations, and insights throughout the investment process.
  • Coordinate key transaction workstreams and work with internal and external stakeholders through due diligence and closing.
  • Participate in financial, legal, physical, regulatory, tax, and other due diligence activities, identifying and escalating material findings.
  • Prepare Investment Committee materials and support the presentation and discussion of proposed transactions.
  • Assist with acquisition financing and post-closing refinancing strategies at the property and portfolio level.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, underwriting tools, pro formas, and investment templates.
  • Manage recurring asset management activities for assigned investments, including monthly and quarterly performance reviews and annual budgeting.
  • Analyze portfolio and property performance, identify trends and opportunities, and contribute to strategies designed to enhance investment performance.
  • Build effective working relationships with operating partners and other stakeholders while proactively addressing portfolio and relationship matters.
  • Participate in property visits and meetings with operating partners as required.
