Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages and analyze portfolio performance, KPIs, and variances.

• Prepare lender reporting, mortgage review packages, and monitor loan covenants.
• Prepare income tax projections and manage tax installments and remittances.
• Support process improvements and digitization of financial processes.
• Assist with Yardi Voyager reporting and enhancements.

Job description

Our client, a tier 1 real estate company in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a talented Senior Financial Analyst to provide advanced financial analysis, forecasting, modelling, and reporting across a commercial real estate portfolio, including operating properties, development projects, and corporate initiatives. The role will provide senior leadership with meaningful financial insights and support decision-making related to properties, development, and acquisitions. This highly visible position requires 5 days in the office and close collaboration with the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages; analyze portfolio performance, KPIs, and variances; and prepare annual portfolio summaries.
• Cash Flow, Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop cash flow projections for operating and development properties; support annual budgets and forecasts; and perform scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Lender Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly progress draws, lender reporting, and mortgage review packages; monitor loan covenants and reporting requirements.
• Tax & Regulatory: Prepare income tax projections, reconcile federal and provincial tax accounts, and maintain tax installment schedules and monthly remittances.
• Controls & Process Improvement: Perform internal control testing, update documentation, and support digitization, technology, and financial process improvement initiatives.
• Financial Systems: Support enhancements and reporting improvements within Yardi Voyager and other financial systems.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and reporting to the Controller and CFO as required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Preferred with public accounting firm training/experience.
• Progressive corporate accounting and financial management experience within commercial real estate is required.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and real estate accounting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, PivotTables, and lookups.
• Yardi Voyager experience is an asset.
• Strong financial analysis, modelling, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
