Job summary

LRO Staffing has partnered with a downtown Toronto law firm seeking a Senior Associate to handle sophisticated construction litigation matters. You will work with a team of experienced lawyers, manage disputes from strategy to resolution, and contribute to multi-disciplinary matters.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of construction litigation experience, knowledge of Construction Act, strong analytical skills, collaborative approach, and a commitment to high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of construction litigation or dispute resolution experience.
• Working knowledge of the Construction Act (liens, holdbacks, trust claims, prompt payment and adjudication) an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound professional judgment and attention to detail.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality work.
• Interest in ongoing professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a broad range of construction dispute matters from strategy through resolution
• Lead and assist with construction lien and trust claims, delay and deficiency disputes, and contract disputes
• Advise on and advance matters under the Construction Act, including prompt-payment and adjudication proceedings
• Contribute to litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution proceedings
• Take independent carriage of files with appropriate autonomy
• Collaborate with lawyers across multiple practice areas on multi-disciplinary matters
