Job summary

Our client, a plaintiff-side litigation firm with a strong reputation in disability and employment law, seeks an Associate Lawyer (3-5 years' call) to join its Labour & Employment group in midtown Toronto. A hybrid environment requires roughly one day per week in the office.

You will manage plaintiff-side labour and employment matters, advocate for employees, and handle files from intake through resolution. Ontario bar in good standing; portable book of business not required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of plaintiff-side labour and employment law experience.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in growing an established practice.
  • Ability to independently manage a busy caseload while collaborating within a team.
  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario and in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad range of plaintiff-side labour and employment matters from intake through resolution.
  • Advocate for employees in wrongful dismissal, human rights, workplace disputes, and related litigation.
  • Handle files from initial consultation through negotiation, mediation, and litigation where required.
  • Work closely with a junior associate and contribute to the continued growth of the practice group.
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver compassionate, strategic legal advice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a highly supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and help expand the firm's labour and employment practice.

Our client is a plaintiff-side litigation firm with a strong reputation in the disability and employment law space. Recognized for its commitment to advocating for employees, the firm is seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer (3-5 years' call) to join its growing Labour & Employment group.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into an established practice while playing a meaningful role in its continued growth. The office is conveniently located in midtown Toronto, close to public transit, with a flexible hybrid environment requiring approximately one day per week in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a broad range of plaintiff-side labour and employment matters from intake through resolution.
