Looking to take your structural expertise to the next level? We are seeking an Assistant Structural Superintendent to oversee concrete crews and manage the coordination of mixed-use, multi-residential, and high-rise projects. With a focus on resource management, safety, and precise scheduling, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring structural integrity and operational efficiency on-site. If you have a strong background in concrete construction and leadership, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do:

1. Read and interpret plans, instructions, blueprints, structural drawings, rough sketches, and specifications to determine work activities.
2. Plan, assign, schedule and supervise the work of concrete crews, laborers, truck drivers and equipment operators engaged in the construction.
3. Coordinate, issue work orders and be accountable for ordering of all concrete materials.
4. Manage a crew of workers.
5. Organize labor and material on a daily basis.
6. Completion of administrative paperwork relating to the site.
7. Manage and coordinate shared resources with other superintendents.
8. Maintain a resource schedule.
9. Prepare computerized schedule and update schedule reporting.
10. Track and report daily job productions.
11. Control daily costs and waste.
12. Coordinate with Consultants regarding structural inspections.
13. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members on an ongoing basis.
14. Manage and prevent occupational hazards and ensure site meets all safety standards.
15. Communicate with Site Superintendent regarding any concerns, discrepancies, additions, or alterations that may arise during the course of construction.
16. Assist all Site Superintendents and Project Coordinators/Estimators in coordinating with the work of trades and consultants.
17. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

What You Will Bring:

1. Minimum 5-years of related concrete construction experience in all aspects of mixed use, multi-residential & high-rise concrete construction.
2. Forming / carpenter background an asset.
3. Extensive structures experience, knowledge of post tensioning and concrete.
4. Certificate, University degree, or college diploma would be an asset.
5. Successful completion of the WorkSafeBC “Supervising for Safety” online training course within probationary period.
