As the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools, you will promote academic, social and personal development; honour diversity; encourage equity and practice democratic governance—these are the principles that guide our organization every day. With the wide variety of programs we offer across 38 schools, every one of our almost 17,000 students is given an opportunity for success. With specialty programs like band, French Immersion, Artists for Kids, International Baccalaureate, Aboriginal education, distributed learning and our residential outdoor education centre, as well as a commitment to extracurricular athletics, choir and student leadership, there is something for everyone.
As an experienced professional, the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance and support to the Superintendent of Schools. You will assist with planning and managing the day-to-day activities of the Superintendent's Office and the ongoing review and development of strategic planning, policy and other documents. Providing research support, some of which may relate to sensitive material requiring a high level of confidentiality, will also fall within your scope.
You will liaise with trustees, elected representatives, government officials, the school board and staff, community organizations and the general public, responding to general information requests regarding district policies, educational programs and events. Working as part of a team with other executive assistants, you will provide support to the team as well as supervise and direct clerical support staff when needed.
Exemplary document creation/editing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software skills will be key to your success, as will a strongly developed sense of discretion.

Our employees receive salary and benefits commensurate with the responsibilities of this position. The salary for this role starts between $75,654 and $78,356.
