Assistant Manager/ Sommelier, Fine Dining- Downtown Toronto

Join our team as an Assistant Manager/Sommelier in downtown Toronto's fine dining scene. This role involves leading wine and food service, managing restaurant operations, and creating a memorable guest experience.

Company Overview

We are a dynamic restaurant committed to excellence, teamwork, and guest satisfaction. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll collaborate with FOH and BOH teams, learn our systems, and contribute to our reputation for outstanding service.

Work Schedule

This position is primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as required.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead wine and food pairings, including Chef’s table dinners
  2. Manage restaurant operations: recruitment, training, coaching, payroll, invoicing, inventory, scheduling, and safety meetings
  3. Build and maintain relationships with guests, staff, and management
  4. Communicate the company's vision and lead by example
  5. Uphold high standards of integrity and promote the venue
  6. Assist with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
  • WSET Level 2 or Sommelier certification
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory or management experience in a restaurant
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
