Job summary

Steve Madden Canada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Bayshore in Ottawa. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to own the floor, drive daily operations, and create an iconic store vibe through high-energy selling and outstanding client service.

You’ll lead, recruit, train, schedule and motivate a trend-inspired team, manage stock from receiving to the sales floor, and safeguard the brand with effective loss prevention.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as an Assistant Store Manager within a fashion brand.
• Previous experience in Sales Leadership and/or managing sales targets and KPI’s.
• Completed education in Fashion and/or retail management (asset)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Create the Vibe: Set the energy on the floor and greet every customer with high-energy, personalized styling.
• Trend Expert: Stay ahead of trends, campaigns and drops to maximize sales and elevate the customer’s look.
• Crush Targets: Lead by example with top salesmanship to hit daily/weekly store goals.
• Lead the Pack: Act as the brand ambassador to keep the store running smoothly when the Manager is out.
• Team Builder: Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate a passionate team.
• Floor Perfection: Execute visual merchandising and keep the store immaculate from stockroom to floor.
• Inventory Hustle: Manage deliveries and inventory, keeping bestsellers in stock.
• Protect the Brand: Enforce policies and loss prevention measures to safeguard assets.
• Always on the Move: Maintain high energy; stand, walk, and hustle 6–8 hours.
• Stockroom Hustle: Lift up to 50 lbs, move boxes, and climb ladders as needed.

Your Daily Hustle (Key Responsibilities)

Client Experience & Sales

• Create the Vibe: Set the energy on the floor! Welcome every customer with high-energy delivering an unforgettable, personalized styling experience.
• Trend Expert: Own your floor! Stay ahead of the latest trends, campaigns, and hottest drops to maximize sales and elevate the customer’s look.
• Crush Targets: Lead by example with top salesmanship, driving productivity and smashing daily/weekly store goals (SPH, KPI, etc)

Store Leadership & Operations

• Lead the Pack: Act as the ultimate brand ambassador to keep the store running smoothly when the Store Manager is out.
• Team Builder: Help recruit, train, schedule, and motivate a team of passionate, trend-inspired team members.
• Floor Perfection: Execute flawless floor moves, effective visual merchandising, and keep the store looking immaculate (stockroom to the sales floor).
• Inventory Hustle: Keep tabs on product deliveries. Work with the team to hustle in new shipments, process inventory, and keep the bestsellers in stock.
• Protect the Brand: Strictly enforce all company policies, loss prevention tactics, and store security measures to safeguard assets.

Physical Requirements & Expectations

• Always on the Move: Must be high-energy, ready to stand, walk, and hustle for 6-8 hours a day.
• Stockroom Hustle: Confident and safe lifting, moving, and carrying boxes up to 50 lbs, and climbing ladders up to 10 feet to pull inventory and achieve stockroom goals.
