Your Responsibilities as Assistant Grocery Manager:
  • Implement directives from the Grocery Manager regarding work assignment, purchasing, receiving goods, scheduling staff, order and discipline in the department, etc.
  • Replace the Grocery Manager when absent and perform their tasks (coordinate the department, schedule staff, make purchases, handle promotions, conduct inventories, calculate profits, enter data into the computer, etc.)
  • Responsible for certain department purchases from designated suppliers.
  • Meet with representatives from companies dealing with the department.
  • Receive and count goods intended for sale such as grocery products, dairy, frozen items, and other products sold in the department. Ensure proper placement in storage, refrigerators, freezers, or other designated areas.
  • Label and display products according to department rules.
  • Update prices on shelves and products as needed.
  • Rotate goods on shelves and keep work areas clean.
  • Assist customers in the department.
  • Ensure staff and self wear required safety equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the department.
  • Conduct various inventories in the grocery department.
  • Promote sales of products and services offered by the department.
  • Perform any other related tasks as required by immediate supervisor.
Experience:
