Job summary

RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC. is seeking an Assistant Controller to support accounting and financial management across a diverse real estate portfolio in Edmonton or Calgary.

You will oversee property and project accounting, support financial planning and reporting, strengthen internal controls, and lead the accounting team. The role requires a CPA, 5+ years in accounting with leadership, and real estate experience.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory roles.
• Experience in real estate development, property management, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and multi-entity accounting.
• Experience overseeing project accounting, cost tracking and capital projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems; Yardi is a strong asset.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel between offices and pass a criminal record check.

This opportunity is available in either Edmonton or Calgary and is responsible for overseeing property and project accounting activities, supporting financial planning and reporting, strengthening internal controls, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
