Economical Insurance is seeking an entry-level Underwriting Assistant to support the Processing Center and help meet service targets. You will learn underwriting workflows, perform data entry, and assist brokers and underwriters with timely processing of policy requests.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary degree or diploma or willingness to complete a CIP designation.

Responsibilities

  • Working with Underwriters and Technical Processing to ensure tasks are completed accurately.
  • Data entry into policy systems and generating required reports.
  • Assist with general office duties and broker/underwriting support.
  • Help meet defined Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements.
  • Contribute to meeting quality and production expectations.
  • Maintain organized worklists and provide exceptional service to broker partners and underwriting teams.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Team Leader of Technical Processing, you will be responsible for contributing to achieving Processing Center’s service targets by proactively and consistently working through Commercial Business requests from a service queue. You will be accountable for your individual work list by maintaining organized and efficient work habits, and providing exceptional customer service to our broker partners and Underwriting teams. Also supporting a once and done environment and completing tasks in designated timeframes.

What To Expect
  • Underwriting Assistant is an entry level processing role within the Processing Center. Within this role you will begin to understand the underwriting processes and familiarize yourself with our guidelines and workflow in order to support completion of a variety of tasks.
  • Working closely with the Underwriters and Technical Processing teams, ensuring work is accurately and fully completed.
  • Contributing to achieving defined Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements.
  • Meeting quality and production expectations on a regular basis.
  • Data entry into our policy systems, including some manual coding of off-system policies.
  • Order required reports on policies.
  • Help out with general office and other duties as required.

$45,000-$60,400
