Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a Plant Operator to support asphalt operations at our Acheson and Edmonton East plants. This full-time role requires working across locations to operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment, ensuring safe and reliable production and adherence to quality standards.

You will perform start-up and shutdown, conduct inspections, and collaborate with teams to meet schedules while upholding safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial plant equipment and willingness to learn asphalt production systems and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
• Effective communication and collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality control, and trucking teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust asphalt plant equipment to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Perform start-up, operation, shutdown, and routine inspections following safety procedures.
• Monitor controls, material flow, temperatures, and equipment performance; troubleshoot and adjust as needed.
• Complete preventative maintenance, lubrication, housekeeping, and minor repairs to support operations.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, maintenance, trucking and plant teams to support schedules and product quality.
