Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. seeks an Operator for the Edmonton Ethane Extraction Plant (EEEP) to join our operations team.

You will contribute to safe, efficient plant performance and support ongoing training with a 9-hour day-shift program, transitioning to rotating day/night shifts after training. Ideal candidates hold an ABSA 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, 3–5 years’ process-plant experience (gas/LNG/NGF preferred), and relevant safety certifications, with a commitment to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• ABSA 4th Class Power Engineering certificate at minimum.
• 3–5 years of process plant operations experience, preferably gas/LNG/NGP.
• Valid safety certifications (H2S Alive, First Aid, CPR, Confined Space).

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor EEEP equipment and pipelines safely and efficiently.
• Respond to emergencies and follow Emergency Response Procedures.
• Collaborate with Senior Operator to improve procedures and training.
• Handle unit upsets and coordinate with the Operations Team Lead.
• Ensure compliance with AltaGas, EOH&S, and safety policies.
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist other operators as needed.
• Participate in pre-jobs, work permitting, and Maximo work orders.
• Maintain housekeeping and environmental standards on site.
• Learn new systems and processes as they are installed.
• Report incidents and non-conformances; support maintenance activities.
• Assist in plant inspections and HS&E activities.
