Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Paving Foreman to lead asphalt paving operations for the Calgary, Alberta, 2026 season. You will oversee crews, coordinate with asphalt delivery, and ensure work aligns with project specifications and budgets.

The role requires 3+ years as a paving foreman, a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends. Aecon emphasizes safety, inclusion, and professional development across projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Asphalt Paving Foreman.
• Must maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license or better.
• Willing to work overtime, nightshift and weekends, as required.
• Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness.
• Inspect the prepared area before paving.
• Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver.
• Inspect paved surfaces for quality and smoothness.
• Responsible for inputting time daily.
• Responsible for managing all daily construction activities on the site(s).
• Overseeing crews on large scale asphalt paving projects.
• Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
• Working and communicating with Superintendents and Project Managers/Coordinators.
