Job summary

City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking a Facility Maintenance Operator III to oversee operations for arenas, community centres, parks and related facilities in the North Parks area. The role supports a busy municipal team with a focus on safety, upkeep, and customer service.

The position is temporary full-time, 40 hours per week, with evenings and weekends required. A secondary school diploma with building maintenance education plus 2 years of related experience is expected; WHMIS and safety

Qualifications

• Secondary School diploma with additional education related to building maintenance
• Minimum 2 years of related progressive experience, preferably in a municipal environment
• Certified Playground Inspector designation is an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of workplace Health and Safety and WHMIS
• Ability to operate hand tools and small equipment
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain arenas, community centres, parks, fields and related facilities
• Oversee maintenance staff and ensure a customer-focused service
• Perform janitorial duties and maintain storage areas and equipment
• Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance as required
• Carry out minor repairs and snow clearing as needed
• Provide reports and participate in budget discussions
