Job summary

Shawnigan Lake School is seeking an Arena Attendant to join our facilities team. This part-time role supports weekend events and daily operations at the Charlie Purdey Arena, delivering cleaning and front-end duties to keep the venue safe, welcoming and well stocked.

You will work 15–20 hours per week, receive $23.81 per hour, and have opportunities for training in ice facility operations. A focus on teamwork, reliability and physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Executes deep cleaning, mopping and sanitization across public spaces and washrooms.
• Maintains benches and hydration stations for athletes and visitors.
• Organizes inventory in cleaning supply storage areas.
• Guides user groups to dressing rooms and coordinates scheduling transitions.
• Monitors on-ice activities for safety and rules compliance.
• Assists with emergency response and evacuation procedures.
• Supports front-end arena operations and related duties.
