Tech Talent International seeks an Architect / Lead Application Modernization for a major modernization project in the Montreal area. You’ll guide architecture decisions, lead multidisciplinary teams, and accelerate legacy modernizations while reducing risk.

The role requires senior expertise, strong communication with technical and business stakeholders, and a hybrid work model in Montreal, QC. English & French are required, with a base salary in the six-figure CAD range and attractive bonus

Job description

Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have a role as an ARCHITECT / LEAD APPLICATION MODERNIZATION with our large consulting client, working for a large modernization project for apublic sector, crown corporation in the Montreal area.

Role: ARCHITECT / LEAD APPLICATION MODERNIZATION

Type: Permanent or Long Term Contract

Location: Hybrid - Montreal, QC -(2/3 days per week onsite)

Salary: Base salary ranges from $150,000 - $165,000 (depending on experience) + 9% bonus + 4-5 weeks paid vacation + 6% RRSP matching + benefits + sick/personal day + cell phone allowance + discounts for public transit and may other perks

Contract Pay Rate: $110 - $130/hr (freelance/incorporated)

Language Requirements: English & French

Key Info: Candidates must be based out of Quebec

Support the progressive modernization of legacy applications towards the organization's target architectures. Act as a technical leader within a multidisciplinary squad and drive architecture decisions to accelerate transformation while reducing operational risks.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of existing systems, their architecture and dependencies.
• Map application flows and integrations.
• Define the target architecture and modernization trajectories.
• Develop strategies for slicing, refactoring, and incremental migration.
• Support the development teams in the implementation of solutions.
• Participate in technology governance and architecture reviews.
• Define the standards of quality, safety, performance and resilience.
• Supervise the implementation of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Contribute to the observability, monitoring and exploitation strategy.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, and Operations Teams.

Desired experience

• 10 years and more in software development and architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in modernizing legacy applications.
• Participation in large-scale transformation or migration programs.
