Job summary

Avenir Energy is looking for a 310T Apprentice Truck Technician to join our growing fleet. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and equipment to keep operations safe and compliant with OHSA.

This field-based role offers on-the-job training across Canada and opportunities to advance within a supportive team. The ideal candidate is a registered apprentice or licensed technician who takes pride in quality work, safety, and solving mechanical problems.

Qualifications

• Registered Apprentice (310T), preferably in the first or second year.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and best practices related to heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools and systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
• High attention to safety and efficiency in all work practices.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; AZ or DZ license is an asset.
• SAP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive repairs on gas and diesel engines, as well as truck systems and components.
• Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.
• Examine and adjust safety-related components including guards, bolts, and protective systems.
• Submit accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and Avenir’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Stay current through ongoing technical training and review of factory service bulletins.
• Tag and retain parts when applicable under warranty guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
