Job summary

Avenir Energy Ltd. is seeking a 310T Apprentice Truck Technician in Ontario to diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. You will help keep our fleet safe, compliant, and fully operational while advancing technical skills.

As a registered apprentice or licensed technician, you will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs, participate in safety programs, and document work. Avenir emphasizes comprehensive benefits and ongoing training in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Apprentice (310T), preferably year 1 or 2.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with diagnostic tools and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections per specs.
• Repair gas and diesel engines and truck systems and components.
• Conduct emergency roadside repairs when required.
• Ensure OHSA compliance and maintain a clean work environment.
• Submit accurate maintenance and inspection records.

Job Summary

Avenir Energy is looking for a 310T Apprentice Truck Technicianto join our growing team. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. You’ll play a key part in keeping our fleet safe, efficient, and fully operational while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. If you're a registered apprentice or licensed technician who takes pride in quality work and solving mechanical problems, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive repairs on gas and diesel engines, as well as truck systems and components.
• Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.
• Examine and adjust safety-related components including guards, bolts, and protective systems.
• Submit accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Avenir's Health and Safety Policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Stay current through ongoing technical training and review of factory service bulletins.
• Tag and retain parts when applicable under warranty guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Apprentice (310T), preferably in the first or second year.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and best practices related to heavy-vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools and systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
• High attention to safety and efficiency in all work practices.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; AZ or DZ license is an asset.
• SAP experience is an asset.
