Job summary

Avenir Energy Ltd. is seeking a 310T Apprentice Truck Technician to join our growing fleet. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and related equipment, ensuring safety and compliance while contributing to fleet reliability.

The role requires an apprentice or licensed technician who takes pride in quality work, with opportunities for hands-on training and career growth in a fast-paced environment across Canada.

Qualifications

• Must be registered apprentice (310T) or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance.
• Familiarity with tools, equipment, materials and best practices for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools and systems.
• Excellent communication and team-oriented work ethic.
• High attention to safety and efficiency in all tasks.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; AZ/DZ license is an asset.
• SAP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections per specs.
• Repair gas and diesel engines and truck systems/components.
• Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.
• Inspect and adjust safety-related components and systems.
• Submit accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records.
• Ensure OHSA compliance and health and safety policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.
• Keep current with technical training and service bulletins.
• Tag and retain parts under warranty guidelines.

Job Summary

Avenir Energy is looking for a 310T Apprentice Truck Technicianto join our growing team. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. You’ll play a key part in keeping our fleet safe, efficient, and fully operational while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. If you're a registered apprentice or licensed technician who takes pride in quality work and solving mechanical problems, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment.


• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications.


• Conduct comprehensive repairs on gas and diesel engines, as well as truck systems and components.


• Complete emergency roadside repairs when required.


• Examine and adjust safety-related components including guards, bolts, and protective systems.


• Submit accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.


• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Avenir’s Health and Safety Policy.


• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.


• Stay current through ongoing technical training and review of factory service bulletins.


• Tag and retain parts when applicable under warranty guidelines.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Apprentice (310T), preferably in the first or second year.


• Strong mechanical aptitude.


• Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and best practices related to heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.


• Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools and systems.


• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.


• High attention to safety and efficiency in all work practices.


• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; AZ or DZ license is an asset.


• SAP experience is an asset.
