Job summary

Dilawri Group of Companies in Vaughan, Ontario, is launching Kia Vaughan and seeks an Apprentice Automotive Technician to join the opening team. You will work alongside licensed technicians, gain hands-on experience, and progress toward Automotive Service Technician certification.

The role offers practical training and a clear path to advancement within a brand-new dealership. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will help perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs while progressing your

Qualifications

  • Registered Automotive Service Technician apprentice or actively pursuing apprenticeship registration.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with interest in diagnostics and repair.
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and required training.
  • Willingness to participate in Kia and dealership training programs.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence with at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor mechanical repairs under supervision.
  • Assist licensed technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and other technical work.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify additional maintenance, repairs, or safety concerns.
  • Communicate concerns to the supervising technician or Service Advisor.
  • Complete assigned work accurately within established timelines.
  • Road-test vehicles as required and when authorized.

The Opportunity

Dilawri Group in Ontario is activelyseeking an Apprentice Automotive Technician to join the opening team at KiaVaughan.

Pay Range: $19.00–$25.00 per hour

Reporting to the Service Manager, the ApprenticeAutomotive Technician will work alongside licensed technicians to performvehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. The successfulcandidate will receive practical experience and ongoing training whileprogressing toward their Automotive Service Technician certification.

Responsibilities
  • Performroutine vehicle maintenance and minor mechanical repairs under thedirection of a licensed Automotive Service Technician.
  • Assistlicensed technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and other technical workas required.
  • Inspectassigned vehicles to identify additional maintenance, repair, orsafety-related concerns.
  • Communicateidentified concerns to the supervising technician or Service Advisorbefore completing additional work.
  • Completeassigned work accurately and within established timelines.
  • Road-testvehicles as required and when authorized.
  • Reviewand follow repair orders, manufacturer procedures, and dealership qualitystandards.
  • Staycurrent on manufacturer technical service bulletins, service procedures,and required training.
  • Properlyidentify, tag, and store replaced parts for warranty claims or customerrequests.
  • Maintainaccurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Keeptools, equipment, work bays, and shared service areas clean, organized,and safe.
  • Restocksupplies and assist with maintaining an efficient Service Department.
  • Properlyuse and care for dealership tools, equipment, and customer vehicles.
  • Followall workplace health and safety requirements and immediately report unsafeconditions.
  • Workcollaboratively with technicians, Service Advisors, and other dealershipteam members.
  • Performother duties required to support Service Department operations.
Qualifications
  • RegisteredAutomotive Service Technician apprentice or actively working towardapprenticeship registration.
  • Previousautomotive service, repair, or dealership experience is considered anasset.
  • Strongmechanical aptitude and interest in automotive diagnostics and repair.
  • Basicknowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, tools, andequipment.
  • Commitmentto completing the apprenticeship program and required technical training.
  • Willingnessto participate in Kia and dealership-specific training programs.
  • Strongattention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effectivetime-management and organizational skills.
  • Abilityto follow instructions and apply feedback.
  • Positiveattitude and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
  • Abilityto work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • ValidOntario driver’s licence with at least three years of licensed drivingexperience and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Abilityto perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing,bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Mustprovide and maintain the tools required for the position.
