Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking a Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician. You will learn on the job while you progress toward a Licensed Technician opportunity, through our internal training teams across Eastern Canada.

The role is full-time and permanent with compensation of $33.25 per hour and opportunities for flexibility in scheduling. You will work with safe, trusted technicians, diagnose and repair Caterpillar and other brands, and produce accurate service reports while growing your

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • Currently enrolled in, or completion of, a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Mechanics program.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives.
  • Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for our customers in a timely and economical manner.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
  • Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure our internal and external customer needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner in a positive, engaging environment of teamwork, career development and lifelong learning for opportunities across our business.

Education

Minimum high school diploma
Currently enrolled in or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Mechanics program

Our Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.
