Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking an Apprentice Technician to learn on the job with experienced Technicians, progressing toward a Licensed Technician opportunity. This full-time, permanent role offers a wage range of CAD 39.73–42.57 per hour and a total rewards package with premiums where eligible.

You will work across Eastern Canada, diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, follow safety policies, and take advantage of internal training to grow your skills and career within Toromont Cat.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma.
• Currently enrolled or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours.
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment in a timely manner.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Prepare service reports and service documentation accurately and timely.
• Meet internal and external customer needs in a professional, team-based environment.

Our Registered Apprentice Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.

Compensation

$39.73- $42.57

The listed wage is just one component of our total rewards package, and eligibility to additional premiums may be available.

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for our customers in a timely and economical manner
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure our internal and external customer needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner in a positive, engaging environment of teamwork, career development and lifelong learning for opportunities across our business.

Must-haves for this role:
