Job summary

Toromont Cat in Dartmouth, NS seeks an Apprentice Technician who will learn on the job under experienced technicians and progress toward a Licensed Technician opportunity. This full-time, permanent role offers hands-on experience with Caterpillar equipment in a safety‑first environment.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues, prepare service reports, and participate in Toromont's training programs across Eastern Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• Currently enrolled or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours.
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for customers in a timely and economical manner.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure customer needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner.

Job description

Our Registered Apprentice Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$33.11- $42.57
