Job summary

Toromont Cat in Vaughan, Canada is seeking a Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician. This role offers hands-on learning with experienced technicians and a clear path to a Licensed Technician opportunity.

You will work on Caterpillar and other brand equipment while gaining mix of shop floor and field experience. The position is full-time with a total rewards program, benefits, and opportunities across Eastern Canada.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in or completion of a Heavy Equipment Mechanics program is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives.
• Repair Caterpillar and other brands of equipment for customers in a timely and economical manner.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Prepare service reports and service documentation accurately and promptly.
• Ensure internal and external customer needs are met in a professional, team‑oriented environment.

Our Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians, when not in school, will continue to learn on the job with our experienced, trusted Technicians gradually progressing to achieve a Licensed Technician opportunity.

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$34.25 - $44.04

Must-haves for this role:

• Minimum high school diploma
• Currently enrolled, or completion of a Post-Secondary Heavy Equipment Mechanics program
