Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Abbotsford, BC is hiring a Parts Counterperson to assist customers and technicians with parts and supplies, while driving monthly sales targets.

You will locate parts, prepare invoices, maintain stock, and stay informed about new products. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in a parts counter role, strong communication and organizational skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary certification preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in a parts counter role is ideal.
• Experience in parts/warehousing and customer service is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, telephone or internal technicians
• Provide exceptional customer service to maximum customer satisfaction
• Keep abreast of all new products and updates through continuous learning
• Locate all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians
• Prepare parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issues parts for all work orders
• Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and assist in maintaining stock
• Accurately document all shipping and receiving of parts
• Maintain files and update parts related information on a regular basis

PAY RANGE

The pay range for this position is $28.00- $44.00 an hour depending on experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in obtaining required parts and supplies while achieving monthly sales targets through encouraging additional parts sales.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, telephone or internal technicians
• Provide exceptional customer service to maximum customer satisfaction
• Keep abreast of all new products and updates through continuous learning
• Locate all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians
• Prepare parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issues parts for all work orders

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Post-secondary diploma or trade certification preferred
• Prior parts counter sales experience or parts/warehousing knowledge preferred
• At least 4+ years of work experience in a parts counter role
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Great interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work with others
• Ability to self-manage time and set priorities while handling multiple responsibilities
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all times
• Must have valid Driver’s License
• Forklift Certification or ability to attain certification
