Eaton is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Electrical Utility Application Engineer to join our Power Systems Canadian Utility Division. This role serves as a technical liaison between Eaton's product lines and utility customers, ensuring our solutions meet customer needs, industry standards, and technical requirements. The Application Engineer will engage with customers at trade shows, deliver technical presentations, and provide critical insights to our product development and sales teams to drive innovation and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Respond to customer inquiries regarding the use, application, and performance of Eaton's power systems products, including UG and OH switchgear, controls, and line insulator equipment.
  • Represent Eaton at industry trade shows (e.g., D-Tech, CEATI, E-Dist), staffing booths, engaging with customers, and understanding their challenges to propose tailored solutions.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations to customers, highlighting technical features and benefits to address their specific needs.
  • Voice of the Customer: Collaborate with product line teams to assess whether Eaton's products meet customer expectations, industry standards, and technical requirements.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to inform product development and ensure alignment with market demands.
  • Technical Expertise and Training: Develop and deliver technical presentations and training sessions for Eaton's sales team to enhance their understanding of power systems products and services.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the sales team to address customer inquiries and facilitate successful sales engagements.
  • Conduct technical presentations for customers upon request, ensuring clear communication of product capabilities and solutions.
  • Focus Areas: Support Eaton's Power Systems Division, with a focus on UG and OH switchgear, controls, line insulator equipment, and power systems studies / services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and technical advancements to ensure Eaton's offerings remain competitive and innovative.
Qualifications

Required (basic) Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) License.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, application engineering, or a related role within the utility or power systems industry.
  • Strong understanding of utility power systems, including switchgear, controls, and insulator equipment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Relocation is offered within Canada.
  • Willingness to travel for trade shows, customer meetings, and internal training (up to 40%).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in electrical engineering, application engineering, or a related role within the utility or power systems industry.
