Job description

• Position Type : Hybrid (primarily onsite with some flexibility; 7.25 hours / day, Monday Friday)
• Primary Focus : Support and ensure the integrity of Ontario Court of Justice and municipal Provincial Offences Act courts business applications and architectures.
• Key Responsibilities :
• Draft solution and technical design documents for cloud-based applications.
• Develop enterprise-level architecture artifacts (e.g., Business Architecture Document, Solution Architecture Document, Solution Requirements Document, Information Architecture Document).
• Produce visual use cases and process flows; ensure alignment with business architecture.
• Create and review Enterprise Architecture artifacts for all required checkpoints.
• Develop logical / physical data models, data dictionaries, and CRUD matrices.
• Assist with system and user interface design and modifications.
• Review privacy and security reports and ensure considerations are addressed in architecture artifacts.
• Assist in metadata / test data creation and data package preparation.
• Ensure adherence to Ministry processes and standards.
• Support testing teams during system and UAT testing phases.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities to managers and team members.
• Experience & Skills Requirements :
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Expertise in structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise architecture standards and artifacts.
• Proficiency in technical solution design and prototyping tools.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of business analysis, solution design, and large IT organizations.
• Technical Criteria :
• Technical and functional design and architecture skills, especially for Cloud / SaaS applications.
• Experience leading technical teams and ensuring solution design adherence.
• Knowledge of web technologies, integration, multi-factor authentication, payment gateways, and middleware.
• Experience with enterprise IT strategy, business process and data modeling, and process re-engineering.
• Architecture Experience :
• Development of business, solution, and information architectures using modeling tools (e.g., Power Designer, Enterprise Architect).
• Experience with privacy and security assessment and traceability.
• Data Migration & Integration :
• Large-scale data migration from legacy to SaaS solutions.
• Data mapping and integration between multiple systems / applications.
• Problem solving for complex integration issues.
• Recommendation of innovative architecture and integration strategies.
• Public Sector Experience :
• Experience working in organizations of similar size / complexity as the Ontario Public Service.
• Experience with OPS architectural artifacts is an asset.
• Knowledge Transfer :
• Documentation and transfer of architecture, system design, and supporting materials to managers and team members via meetings and SharePoint, throughout the project lifecycle.
