Payroll Coordinator- Applewood Auto Group
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing? Join the Applewood Auto Group as a Payroll Coordinator. This on-site role is located at our Head Office in Langley, BC. We are seeking a candidate with exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations. Experience with full-cycle payroll processing for multiple entities in British Columbia is required.

Role & Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time by collecting and verifying employee timekeeping records, calculating wages and deductions, and generating paychecks or electronic transfers.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records related to wages, benefits, tax withholdings, and other relevant information; ensure data is updated regularly and securely stored.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state (where applicable), and local labor laws; accurately calculate and withhold taxes, prepare tax filings, and provide necessary reports to government agencies.
- Benefit Administration: In collaboration with HR, administer employee benefits programs and ensure benefit deductions and contributions are reflected in payroll.
- Audits and Reconciliations: Participate in internal and external audits; conduct regular reconciliations of payroll records and financial documents to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Communication and Customer Service: Interact with employees, managers, and external vendors; provide clear, timely communication while maintaining confidentiality.

- Accuracy Rate: Percentage of error-free paychecks and tax filings.
- Timeliness of Payroll Processing: Time from data collection to disbursement of payments; adherence to established timelines.
- Compliance Audit Results: Outcomes of compliance audits and findings.
- Team Member Satisfaction: Employee feedback on payroll accuracy, timeliness, and responsiveness.
- Cost Efficiency: Payroll costs per paycheck and cost-control improvements from automation or process changes.
Must be Proficient In
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
- Experience processing payroll using Payworks is a strong asset
- Experience processing payroll for multiple entities concurrently
- Experience processing payroll for a company located in British Columbia, Canada
- Experience implementing new software
- Accounting software knowledge with basic accounting understanding
- Payroll knowledge gained through courses or experience; BC payroll work experience weighs more heavily than purely academic knowledge
Compensation
The compensation range for the Payroll Coordinator position is $50,000 to $60,000 CAD annually. Final offer depends on knowledge, skills, and experience, and other relevant factors.
