• Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience is a strong asset.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for large data set analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve standard costing models including labour rates and BOMs.
• Calculate standard production costs using labour standards, material usage, and inventory data.
• Review costing assumptions to ensure accurate product costing and pricing.
• Prepare weekly and monthly variance analysis identifying cost drivers and actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory analysis, and operational reporting.
• Partner with production, operations, and supply chain to improve costing accuracy.
• Assist in redesigning costing processes, reporting, and internal controls.

Our client, a well-established food manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a motivated Cost Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who is eager to develop their expertise in costing, pricing, and manufacturing finance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard costing models, including labour rates, material costs, production overheads, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Calculate standard production costs using labour standards, material usage, production yields, and inventory data.
• Review and update costing assumptions to ensure accurate product costing and pricing.
• Prepare weekly and monthly variance analysis, identifying cost drivers and recommending corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory analysis, and operational reporting.
• Partner with production, operations, and supply chain teams to improve costing accuracy and business performance.
• Assist in redesigning and enhancing costing processes, reporting, and internal controls.
